Toyota are set to announce their withdrawal from F1 later today according to autosport.com

Does this mean the retiring BMW team will live on as the Malaysian-backed Sauber, after-all? I hope so.

Poor old Kobayashi - back to preparing sushi at his Dad's restaurant. Japanese drivers don't normally find drives without an engine deal in their pocket. I hope he can sort something out. He shows real spunk!

Yet another blow to the sport. I can understand the sorry the man felt telling the media. A sad day for F1.

But with new team or should I say some old team returning, it will still be great. Just wish that Bernie was not so pushy!

Roger that, Peter.

Bridgestone have announced they're stopping, too, albeit at the end of next season when their contract expires.

I wonder if we'll have two or three suppliers back in so we have a tyre war to liven things up. 2010 should be interesting enough, with drivers trying to make their tyres work with varying fueld loads, without wearing them out.

Bernie didn't get where he is today, etc., etc... Always very difficult to read him because what he says is usually so ambiguous you never know what he's thinking.

I heard they are back in after their throttle cable got stuck and they couldn't stop the car
