Greetings Manglers. We're in a bit of a holding pattern ,here: the new forums are in place; the new Database is in place; but the site itself is running to catch-up. Please bear with us while we implement the site's long-overdue revamp. In the meantime, once logged-in, please click on the F1 | MotoGP | SBK on the left to enter the corresponding team for the next race. |

CRUNCH Honda withdraw from F1'09 leaving Jens and Rubinho out of work. Not to mention the 100's of staff at Brackley and in Japan who've dedicated themselves to turning the team's form around for next year. |

WHAT AN AMAZING CLIMAX I was quite liderally [sic!] sitting on the edge of my seat thinking Massa had clinched his first World Championship - Glock being too far up the road for Hamilton to catch him, when he hove into view as Hamilton came up to the very last corner of the very last lap. Vettel's excellent drive almost put paid to Hamilton's dream, just as it put paid to WSM's dream of her first Manglers' Championship, John taking a deserved victory in the last race of the season. What a brilliant way to sign-off a dramatic season. |

BAYLISS BOWS OUT IN STYLE with two victories on his final weekend. What a legend! I wonder if Haga will be able to pickup his formidable gauntlet and provide Ducati with another skipful of victories next season? |

MOTOGP'S LOSS IS SBK'S GAIN? With KTM dropping out of the 250GP scene, only Aprilia is left to fill the grid. Allegedly, there's a bit of a commotion about the leasing fees Aprilia demand for the use of their bikes, so a number of teams could be wending their ways to the SBK paddock in some form. Meanwhile, the SBK field will look a lot more competitive next season with the return of Aprilia (presumably funded by those 250GP leasing fees?), in the hands of Biaggi and Hofmann; and the debut of the new BMW World Superbike contender with Corser and Xaus. Cool! |

GIBERNAU IS BACK Sete Gibernau's return to next year's MotoGP has been confirmed. He'll be riding a 5th Ducati for the new Francisco Hernando Onde 2000 team. Let's hope he's able to demonstrate the form he showed when he ran Rossi so close for the title in 2003/4. Read all about it on crash.net |

MAX PROPOSES SPEC ENGINE All the teams agree the need for cost-savings but few agree that a spec engine is the way to achieve them. Common parts (uprights, wings, gearboxes, suspension) and a less-exotic engine specification might achieve unanimous agreement but none of the manufacturers are going to stay in F1 if they're using other a common engine. If they liked the sound of that, they'd have bought into GP2... |
